The best system is the one you will actually use. For most people, that means something simple enough to require zero thought when saving a prompt. Fancy tools exist. Dedicated prompt management platforms offer version control, team collaboration, analytics, and integrations. These matter for organizations with hundreds of prompts and dozens of users. For individuals and small teams, a folder of markdown files or a well-structured Notion page works fine. The prompts themselves matter more than how you store them. A disorganized collection of excellent prompts beats a perfectly organized library of mediocre ones. Spend your energy writing better prompts. Spend minimal energy organizing them.
